Awkwafina
Awkwafina began as a American performer and rapper, performing sly tunes that dealt with questions of race and sexual identity with a comedic twist. Prior to her move to Hollywood, she had the opportunity to release a number of songs. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. She also received the classical and jazz education later when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. While at school, she majored in journalism, and women's studies, and was learning Mandarin in Beijing for a time. Her focus shifted to music only after she graduated. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included on her debut album Yellow Ranger. On the album, there were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitche$. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in the year 2015, and was another project. She opted to pursue a career as an actor after having completed her two previous projects, as an author and musician. Aside from early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in movies including Neighbors2Storks and Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered a series of notable performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her EP "In Fina We Trust".
